Dear Coach Summit,
As I watched your press conference today I couldn’t help but to think about all your accomplishments both on and off the court. You have inspired so many women across the country. What you have done for this country and the great sport of basketball simply cannot be measured. As a young woman I appreciate what you represent; courage, dedication, competitiveness, ambition, and most of all character. I know your passion lies with inspiring young women to be better people and basketball players, know that you have inspired many, not only your players but many of your fans. As you enter into this next chapter in your life and as you face a new opponent, you will give the same fight and have the same great success. As you said you don’t want a pity party, and I will not pity you, because I know how strong of a woman you are. I will,however, express my sadness of your absence on the court. I am grateful to have witnessed your intensity and your passion as I watched one of the greatest coaches push her team to success. You, your son and family are in my prayers. I wish you well Coach Summit as you enter this new phase in your life!
